Are you aware that there are everyday items in your home that you use all the time that could threaten your health? Ready to take the next step in protecting your health and your family’s health? Prepare yourself for a home overhaul!

According to HuffingtonPost.com, a recent study found that there are many chemicals in common household products that are linked to hormone disruption and disease. When absorbed into the body, these chemicals can mimic estrogen, androgen or thyroid hormones, and can also stimulate or block the production of these hormones.

200 products were tested a few are listed here:

  • SoapsChemicals in Household Products
  • Lotions
  • Detergents
  • Cleaners
  • Sunscreen
  • Air Fresheners
  • Kitty Litter
  • Shaving Cream
  • Vinyl Shower Curtains
  • Pillow Protectors
  • Cosmetics
  • Perfumes

That’s right, every single item you use every single day has the potential to harm you. Researchers identified 55 chemicals in these products that adversely affect your health. These included phthalates, which are linked to reproductive abnormalities and asthma; BPA which has been linked to heart disease, infertility, and behavioral and developmental problems in pregnancy; and parabens which mimic estrogen and have been linked to breast cancer!

More disturbing than that is the news that these harmful chemicals were not listed on the product labels! We should be able to decide whether or not we want to risk exposure to these chemicals, for there is a cumulative effect of exposing your body to them over time.

What can you do?

Firstly, throw out all the products with labels that you cannot pronounce over half the ingredients. Secondly, do some research yourself; find what is paraben-free and decide for yourself where to go from there. Choose products that are natural and free of harmful chemicals as often as possible. Detoxify your body regularly through exercise, a healthy diet, clean water, and vitamin supplementation.

It is outrageous that products line our grocery aisle that are slowly hurt us. Put a stop to it by no longer supporting the companies that are allowing harmful chemicals and start spreading the word about household products potential danger!

I became a Chiropractor after being seen as a teenager for allergies. Having been on medications, allergy shots, restrictive diets, and experiencing painful allergy testing, I was treated with Chiropractic care and experienced the first symptom free hay fever season in my life. I knew then that the body was able to heal itself with the right help and decided that I wanted to help others in the same way. Since then I have experienced the benefit of seeing thousands of patients experience their own success by getting off of unnecessary medication and avoiding needless surgery.
